Located in the vast wilderness from the main roads and deep within some forsaken kidnapping hot spots that were probably filming places in various local TV Drama series. This Sunset Grill & Pub was probably the hardest to-reach dining spot I've ever been to (Although I had never been finding a lot of hidden dining places to begin with).
The fact that Sir Bak and his Car crew got lost and Mr "GPS" Vincent couldn't navigate his way - are solid evidences - it was a labrinyth. Mr Bak didn't even trust me that I've reached the spot until we alight from my car, it was a location nobody believed a Bar would have existed.
Level 1 Spicy Buffalo Wings
Taste: ☺☺
Surprising - Not nice. It is spicy, yes, the first bite made me down one glass of water. Vince actually almost finished a FLASK of water upon finishing his 1 and a 1/2 wings.
The taste is sour, and the spicyness is like a mild version of the japanese wasabi. It tastes more pepperish rather than the hotness of chilli. Nothing really seems specially good, despite the hoo-haa over the advertisements spread by visited customers.
Furthermore, 12 wings cost $28. W.T.F.
Fried Button Mushrooms, $13 - $17 I think
Taste: ☺☺☺
Oily, all agreed, as the pressure of the fork going into the mushroom easily juiced out the oily gravy soaked within. Crispy and chewy, you can guess from the fried outer layer and the very normal chewy button mushroom. Dull taste, except for the fragrance of the flour they use to fry it.
Roughly $1 a piece of fried button mushroom. W.T.F.
Funnily, YM look rather Monkeyish in this pix.
The best part of this place was probably the setting and ambience. You can actually see private planes and jets moving across the road just beside the bar. Another is probably the cosy feeling you would have because the location is far less associated with the common urbanised area of a city. The firefly lightings that decorates the place when sun falls is also rather warming and romantical.
Ants and mosquitoes are a definite nuisance under your dining table though.
We spent near $64 for 4 dishes. The 2 above and 2 more plates of french fries at $4 each. Probably a decent place to chill when you are a bit loaded or to fascinate your girlfriend.
Overall: ☺☺☺
Henderson Waves
After another round of dim sum at 小旋风 at Tiong Bahru Plaza, we went to the Henderson Waves. The very long stretch of bridge from Mt. Faber to somewhere that I don't know.Hmm... Nice place maybe? Our fun was short-lived, thanks to a security guard holding a camera and trying to take pictures of the cars illegally parked at the roadside. Happens to be us.
